Model one pay plan against your own drive time and billable hours. Pay in the shop becomes arithmetic you can say out loud to a technician.
What is inside
Taken from the kit’s own Start Here guide, so what you see here is what you open after checkout.
Also in the download: Pay Plan Scripts and Templates (PDF, file 7; editable Word, file 8). Every file is in the same folder, named with the number shown here so the steps below point straight at it. Open these in Word to change the wording for your own company before you use them.
How to use it
Step 1 is The Pay Math Field Guide, file 6. Work down from there, and by step 4 you log real pay weeks in the Weekly Pay Log every payday.
Skim the Field Guide, starting with the one idea on page 2. Fifteen minutes, and you know which two numbers every pay question comes down to.
Open the Workbook and replace the amber starter figures on the Pay Plan Modeler and Drive Time tabs with your own. The cost per billed hour, the margin behind it, and what each plan pays update as you type.
Fill in a pay plan summary sheet from Scripts & Templates for each technician, so every tech can predict their own check.
Log real pay weeks in the Weekly Pay Log every payday, and run every raise through the Raise Breakeven tab before you answer it.

Before you buy
The point of a product page is to let you judge the work before checkout.
6 PDF guides, 1 Word document, 1 Excel workbook, each one named in the What is inside section above. The purchase is a download, not a subscription, and the files are yours to keep.

The files are designed to be edited for your own internal operations. Review the included license and have legal counsel check decisions that require jurisdiction-specific advice.
Use the $149 Setup Session for one hour of implementation help on this tool. TrueStep HR does not offer broader consulting engagements. For a legal question, use qualified counsel.
