What TrueStep HR covers, and what it does not

Read this before you buy, not after. It is short, it is specific, and it is the same answer whether you run HR for a living or you are the person who ended up with it.

Built to the standard

Scoped, dated, sourced, and reviewed by a named practitioner before release.

What the documents are built on

Every file states the jurisdictions it covers and the date it was last reviewed.

Every figure and every legal guardrail traces to a reference note that names its primary source, states its working assumptions in plain language, and shows the date it was last reviewed. If a number on this site matters to a decision you are making, you can open the note behind it and see where it came from.

What is federal, and what is not state specific

Every file states the jurisdictions it covers and the date it was last reviewed.

The documents are written to federal employment law and to general good practice. They are not written to any one state, and they do not track state by state variation. At least sixteen states changed employment law effective January 1, 2026, and a document that claimed to be current with all of them would be making a claim nobody can keep. Where a topic is commonly regulated at the state level, the document says so and tells you what to check locally.

What a review date means

Every file states the jurisdictions it covers and the date it was last reviewed.

A review date is the date a person read the document against its sources and confirmed it still said the right thing. It is not a guarantee that nothing has changed since. It is the honest form of the claim: here is when this was last checked, by us, against what.

This is not legal advice

Every file states the jurisdictions it covers and the date it was last reviewed.

HR guidance is general information. It is not legal advice, it is not tax advice, and buying a document does not create a professional relationship. For a contested termination, a complaint you are unsure how to handle, or anything with a lawyer already involved, get advice on your specific facts. Sessions exist for buyers who want a senior read of their own result or file. TrueStep HR does not take on consulting engagements.

If this is not the right fit

Every file states the jurisdictions it covers and the date it was last reviewed.

Every digital purchase carries a 30-day full refund by email, with no form or explanation required. You do not have to explain yourself and you do not have to send the file back, because you cannot un-download a file and pretending otherwise would be theater.
