Do the paperwork before the new hire arrives. The compliance tracker and the before-day-one section cover the vehicle and tool documents most shops skip.
What is inside
Taken from the kit’s own Start Here guide, so what you see here is what you open after checkout.
How to use it
Work step 1 below. It is the fastest way to see what you have and how the pieces fit together.
Do the paperwork first. Use the compliance tracker in the workbook and the beforeday-one section of the checklist so nothing is missed before the new hire arrives.
Run the first day. Work the First Day Jobsite Checklist top to bottom with the new hire and the supervisor.
Issue PPE. Use the PPE Issue Log to issue and record protective equipment, and confirm a fit test before any respirator goes out.
Sign the agreements before keys and tools. Have the Company Vehicle Agreement and the Tool Issue and Return Agreement signed before the vehicle or the tools leave the shop.
Run the ramp. Use the thirty, sixty, and ninety day plan in the workbook to move the new hire from ride-along to supervised work to independent work, and to lead eligible.

Before you buy
The point of a product page is to let you judge the work before checkout.
7 PDF guides, 4 Word documents, 1 Excel workbook, each one named in the What is inside section above. The purchase is a download, not a subscription, and the files are yours to keep.
Yes. The preview images on this page are taken from the current deliverable, so you can judge the structure and writing before buying.
The files are designed to be edited for your own internal operations. Review the included license and have legal counsel check decisions that require jurisdiction-specific advice.
Use the $149 Setup Session for one hour of implementation help on this tool. TrueStep HR does not offer broader consulting engagements. For a legal question, use qualified counsel.
Extend the system
These products address the next connected step in the same situation, operating method, or industry.
Run a trades hire as a sequence you can repeat. That means a posting that pulls, a fifteen-minute screen, and a structured interview with a score.
Put one attendance standard across every crew. A points tracker rolls up by crew and by foreman, and a weather-day occurrence type is built in. A missed mandatory jobsite start type is defined and counted.
The six field toolkits are built to work together, and two tools run them as one program. A Contractor HR Audit Checklist tells you where to start. A Seasonal Staffing Planner sizes the crews against the work ahead.
