What this closes

A practical system that moves the decision into real work.

Also in the download: Tech Check-In Scripts and Templates (PDF, file 7; editable Word, file 8). Every file is in the same folder, named with the number shown here so the steps below point straight at it. Open these in Word to change the wording for your own company before you use them.

How to use it

Your first 15 minutes

Step 1 is The Tech Retention Field Guide, file 6. Work down from there, and by step 4 you hold the conversations.

  1. Skim the Field Guide, starting with the one idea on page 2. Fifteen minutes, and you know why year-one exits are the expensive ones and where they are decided.

  2. Open the Tracker, set the As of date, and add one roster row per technician hired in the last year. Tenure, ramp, and every milestone compute themselves.

  3. For every current and future hire, schedule the seven check-ins in the log with due dates, the day the offer is accepted. The scripts carry the words for each one.

  4. Hold the conversations, log the outcomes, and read the Summary tab monthly: survival at 90 days and one year, what early exits cost at your figure, and which hiring sources send technicians who stay.

Before you buy

Clear answers to the practical questions.

The point of a product page is to let you judge the work before checkout.

What exactly do I receive?

6 PDF guides, 1 Word document, 1 Excel workbook, each one named in the What is inside section above. The purchase is a download, not a subscription, and the files are yours to keep.

Are these the real screenshots?

Yes. The preview images on this page are taken from the current deliverable, so you can judge the structure and writing before buying.

Can I use the files in my business?

The files are designed to be edited for your own internal operations. Review the included license and have legal counsel check decisions that require jurisdiction-specific advice.

What if I need help applying it?

Use the $149 Setup Session for one hour of implementation help on this tool. TrueStep HR does not offer broader consulting engagements. For a legal question, use qualified counsel.
